It is eaten raw (ripe or semi-ripe) or in form of jams and jellies.

Young twigs are quadrangular and downy. The leaves, ambrosial if crushed, are evergreen, opposite, short-petioled, egg-shaped or oblong-elliptic, somewhat aberrant in outline; 2 3/4 to 6 in (7-15 cm) long, I 'A to 2 in (3-5 cm) wide, leathery, with apparent alongside veins, and added or beneath featherlike on the underside. Faintly fragrant, the white flowers, borne apart or in baby clusters in the blade axils, are 1 in (2.5 cm) wide, with 4 or 5 white petals which are bound shed, and a arresting bunch of conceivably 250 white stamens angled with pale-yellow anthers.
